In Yoga there are 5 layers of the Man as a material and energy structure (Koshas):
- Anna maya kosha (physical body),
- Prana maya kosha (includes breathing and 5 sense organs, organs of movement, 7 chakras)
- Mano maya kosha (mind)
- Vijnana maya kosha (intuition)
- Ananda maya kosha (keeps past life experience)
Anna maya kosha refers to ‘Sthula sharira’, Gross body.
Prana, Mano and Vijnana maya koshas compose ‘Sukshma sharira’ or Subtle body.
Ananda maya kosha is a ‘Karana sharira’ or Causal body.
Diseases of the physical body could have routes from any of these layers. The deeper the layer, the more difficult it is to heal. The deeper (more subtle) Kosha defines previous (gross) Koshas.
In GSR there is a consciousness structure, which was discovered practically. It contains:
- Physical body, considered to be the closest reality object for our psychic, it is situated beyond the consciousness
- Reaction (5 sense organs, body movements, chakras) – could be referred to Prana maya kosha,
- Information (mind), could be connected with Mano maya kosha,
- Feelings (family scenarios), close to Vijnana maya kosha, because these family dynamics feels inside like an ultimate truth, the only right thing,
- Spiritual level (past life experience), very similar to Ananda maya kosha
As you can see, these layers of consciousness are very similar to the energetic human structure in Yoga.
Both in Yoga and GSR there is a way beyond these layers, a path to develop one’s consciousness, including the particular steps (8 steps of Ashtanga yoga, described in Patanjali “Yoga Sutras”, the way to IMag in GSR).
In the Vedic concept (Yoga and Ayurveda) deeper kosha totally determines grosser levels, including the physical body. For example, if someone has psoriasis, it could have roots in the Causal body. If the person would influenced on that level, he will cure his disease.
In GSR the deeper layers determine more superficial layers, but the physical body is considered to have its own consciousness. Certainly, there is a connection between body and mind, but the exact mechanism is a research field for now. Nevertheless, almost every disease or physical state has a psychosomatic component. And we can influence it by GSR methods on each level of consciousness.
Besides that, there are some unique techniques in GSR, which are very helpful in the work with psychosomatic problems. For example, Humanity field, Basic loyalty, or Ecosystem.
